Job Summary: The position holder, under the direction of the Director of Finance and Operations, will oversee Mildmay Uganda’s Grants Administration and Donor Relations. S/he will manage a large portfolio of Grants and contracts with an emphasis on donor compliance and reporting. S/he will collaborate closely with members of the Finance teams, Audit team, Directors and Project teams to maintain financial oversight over projects and to ensure Grant Risk assessment & monitoring as well as compliance with donor requirements as well as
Education, experience and Aptitude:
- Candidate must have Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) OR Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) with full professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA.
- At least 5 years working experience in grants finance management, 3 years of which must have been at management level.
- Experience in Auditing will be an added advantage. Successful candidate will have proven knowledge of donor financial accounting procedures (multi donor reporting) and clear understanding of GOU and IAS/AFRS accounting requirements; wide working knowledge of major donor regulations with particular bias to major Multilateral and Bilateral donor funding; extensive skills in working within financial systems like NAVISION, Sunsystems, etc., and cost allocation accounting experience; knowledge in advanced Microsoft excel and spreadsheets and analytical skills as well as good Communication skills in writing and speaking, that is focused on strategic messaging.
