Bayport Financial Services (Uganda) Ltd is part of the Bayport International Group (BML) headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa with Financial Services Operations in over Nine Countries in Africa and South America. In line with our Corporate Objective of continuous improvement and achieving efficiencies in our Country Operations, we invite applications from suitably qualified, professional and experienced candidates for the following openings within our Uganda Operations.
The incumbent Relationship Officer will report to the Relationship Manager and will be in charge of managing stakeholders’ expectations, timely submission of loans for signatory approvals and ensuring zero forgery in the submission of the documentation. He/she will ensure high quality asset portfolio free of policy contraventions, oversights and omissions with strict adherence to the sales and credit policy. This role reports to the Relationship Manager.
Key Duties & Responsibilities of the Relationship Officer
Relationship Officer will amongst other things be responsible for the following key responsibilities and assignments:
a) Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders to smoothen the sales operation in relation to loans reviews and approvals.
b) Collaborate with the Branch Sales Team and Head office quality control team daily to obtain physical documents on time and timely approvals from authorities to the Quality Control Unit in order to achieve desirable results in daily disbursement performance in line with our credit Policy.
c) Develop and oversee relationships with clients to ensure top -level service provided to clients.
d) Timely communication to the Branch Sales Team on changes pertaining to policies and procedures.
e) Maintain a cordial working relationship with peers, superiors and other units involved in the loan origination, approval and disbursement process ensuring strict adherence to the Sales and Credit Policy.
f) Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be instructed by senior management.
g) Work with Branch Managers, Division Managers and the Head of Sales to best deliver Bayport objectives.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
a) A Bachelor’s degree with honors from a recognized University.
b) A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry in a fast-paced environment preferably in Retail Banking, Microfinance, Insurance or Telecommunication Sales
c) Must be Computer Literate
d) Knowledge of branch and regional management systems and procedures.
e) Excellent oral and written communication and a good personality and a team player capable of working with and in a large team
f) Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision while meeting and exceeding deadlines and expectations
g) Sober, mature, organized and self-controlled; easy to work with and must be a team player.
