Job Title: Relationship Manager

The incumbent Relationship Manager’s primary role is to maintain professional relationships with ministries and Government Key Accounts to smoothen Sales relationships and support achievement of sales turnover targets. The successful candidate will ensure high quality asset portfolio free of policy contraventions, oversights and omissions with strict adherence to the sales and credit policy.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities of the Relationship Manager

 

The Relationship manager will amongst other things be responsible for the following key responsibilities and assignments:

 

a.    Build and maintain professional relationships with ministries and Government Key Accounts to smoothen the sales operation in relation to loans reviews and approvals.

b.    Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to achieve sales turnover target.

c.     Ensure credit performance Efficiencies by leading and championing timely coding, collection efficiencies by initiating and keeping very close ties with vote leaderships throughout the Business.

d.    Monitor the compliance, implementation and effectiveness of established policies, procedures and internal controls and implement timely incident reporting to determine the level of real or potential operational risks.

e.    Collaborate with the Sales Team and Quality control team to obtain physical documents on time and submit the loan applications to Government votes/ authorities and ensure timely approvals of the submitted applications from the authorities to the Quality Control Unit in order to achieve desirable results in daily disbursement performance in line with our credit Policy.

f.     Develop and oversee relationships with Government officials and clients to ensure top -level service provided to clients.

g.    Maintain a cordial working relationship with peers, superiors and other units involved in the loan origination, approval and disbursement process ensuring strict adherence to the Sales and Credit Policy.

h.    Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be instructed by senior management.

i.      Work with the entire Sales and Service team to best deliver Bayport objectives.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

a.    A Bachelor’s degree with honors from a recognized University.

b.    A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry, three years of which MUST have been at a Regional Management and Department supervisory level in Sales and Credit department, preferably in Retail Banking, Microfinance, Insurance or Telecommunication Sales,

c.     In depth knowledge of branch and regional management systems and procedures.

d.    Must be Computer Literate

e.    Ability to formulate Branch and Regional operational sales and Credit collection strategies

f.     Ability to exceed management performance objectives expectations an ensure excellent service in all Government votes within the Division

g.    Excellent oral and written communication and a good personality and a team player capable of working with and in a large team

h.    Should have an entrepreneurial and commercial mind frame.

i.      Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision while meeting and exceeding deadlines and expectations

j.     Sober, mature, organized and self-controlled; easy to work with and must be a team player.

k.    Must currently be actively employed
