The ideal candidate will manage the end to end accounting process, identification of income-generating avenues, cost control, supervising of a team in the finance department.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include the follow;

Key Responsibilities;

  • Manage the financial month-end process, being accountable to the Managing Director for the pre-closing and month-end closing steps, including maintenance of accounting records. As part of this the role will also be responsible for review and monitoring all accounting transactions and adjustments (accruals, deferrals and provisions), including Intercompany accounting, ensuring the appropriate use of these in line with accounting rules; 

  • Provide leadership to the company's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimize the company’s financial performance and strategic position;

  • Take overall control of the company’s accounting function and contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate; 

  • Providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers;

  • Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth;

  • Work with other supervisors to grow the business, formulating strategies, plans and ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed;

  • Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management policies;

  • Prepare and present monthly and annual accounts to the Directors and ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met;

  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers, suppliers, and advisors;

  • Perform reconciliation of all relevant accounts and ensure that all suspense accounts are properly reconciled;

  • Co-ordinate provision of information to internal/external auditor;

  • Review and approval of local Tax and other statutory returns; 

  • Provide an advisory function to the operations section on technical accounting issues;  

  • Monitor the cost allocation ratios for the business to ensure that they are based on accurate accounting rationale; 

  • Ensure invoicing for the work executed and collections in time; and

  • Coordinate the building process, cash flow planning, and forecasting.



  • Honors Degrees in BCOM (Accounting & Finance) or BBA(Accounting & Finance);

  • ACCA qualification is desirable;

  • Minimum of 5 years of qualified experience in a relevant managerial post; 

  • Excellent working knowledge of financial control and processes for a minimum of 2 years; 

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills ;

  • Able to relay complex financial information in an easy-to-understand way; and

  • Highly organized and deadline oriented.
