Reports to Group Managing Director
1. JOB SUMMARY
The position is responsible for the prudent management of our Tanzania Country office. The overall work is to be consistent with the strategic direction of the Company delivering specific objectives and making a significant contribution to the development and articulation of the projects, championing learning and sharing with the team internally and externally and ensuring that The company has adequate resources to deliver to an appropriate quality and achieve defined influencing targets.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
R.1 Strategic direction and policy influencing
In consultation with the Group Managing Director address all projects strategy objectives that address clearly articulated problems and issues which have significant impacts on improving sales and company revenue.
In consultation with the Group Managing Director develop strategies and hypotheses that contributes to the understanding and resolution of identified problems/issues in sync with The Company strategic direction.
In consultation with the Group Managing Director develop an influencing strategy sets out how knowledge and information accrued will be utilized to achieve desired impacts
To take lead in synthesizing the contribution that the projects is making to the Company’s growth and development.
R.2 Programme planning and management
Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
To oversee project work-plans, including activity descriptions and timeliness as well as quality
To track projects’ progress and make alterations (in consultation with Group MD) and the management team where necessary to enhance delivery.
To mentor the development and maintenance of good relations with beneficiaries, partners and Key Stakeholders
To keep abreast of new or shifting specialist knowledge and paradigms (technological, methodological or developmental) that relate to The company’s work; and share the same with team.
R.3 Line management
To line-manage staff within projects. This involves ensuring that the unit’s and departments Performance Management process is operational. This includes:
Provision of day to day support and supervision
Identifying training and development opportunities which impact positively on staff motivation and performance
To ensure understanding of and compliance with The company’s guidelines, policies and procedures
To guide recruitment of appropriate staff to enable projects to deliver required outputs
R.4 Marketing, financial management
Coordinates efforts by establishing marketing strategies to improve company’s revenue, through supervising the Marketing staff.
To ensure that The company have adequate funds to implement a portfolio of strategically coherent projects within the Tanzania region
To proactively scout for new funds avenues; help in preparing and submitting proposals in liaison with appropriate units within The company departments.
To keep track on cash flows and advise The company managers accordingly
To be ultimately responsible for the financial performance of all work within the Company
R.5 Quality assurance and knowledge management
To ensure all projects within The company are designed and implemented to the highest standards possible and in line with The company’s strategy, guidelines and protocols
To promote liaison and synergy by ensuring quality assurance in all aspects of work
To ensure all projects are providing revenue to The company
R.6 Representation and networking
To develop and maintain a network of peers and professional contacts within and outside The company for exchange of ideas and information in general
To represent The company in professional forums and actively seek avenues for sharing the The company’s products and services.
Networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Coordinate The company Projects progress
Oversee the day to day activities at The company.
Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(a) Level of Education/Academic Qualification
An MBA degree
A strong technical sales or marketing background
A solid understanding technology or ICT related businesses
(b) Specialized Training/Professional Qualifications (added advantage)
Advanced training in governance, leadership and management
Training in planning, monitoring and evaluation
Training in financial management
(c) Other Competencies/Abilities/Skills desirable
The drive and determination typical in an exceptional sales or product marketing manager
A driven self-starter who requires minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills
A good general business and finance understanding
Strong man-management experience and skills
Experience in various management roles: including budgetary control and planning.
Ability to work lead a team
Ability to pay attention to detail and report accurately.
Self driven individual who is diligent, honest, disciplined and responsible
Demonstrate good leadership skills with the ability to work under no supervision.
(d) Relevant Job Experience
Over five (6) years relevant experience working in a serving in the management position three (3) of which should have been in a senior management positions.
NOTE: MUST be in a possession of valid passport
