The Position:

We are looking for corporate store managers for 3 new water production, packaging and retail outlets that will be opened in various locations in Kampala, each operating within an exclusive territory. As a corporate store manager, you will be responsible for running the Jibu store as if it is your own business – you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the store activities and employees, requiring you to make all critical decisions to ensure outstanding performance from both the team and sales results

As a corporate store manager, we will train you in our brand, sales and management techniques and equip you with the necessary materials to do your job – we need to you to be a hard worker, be willing to learn, and have a “never give up” attitude. You will represent Jibu in a professional manner and we expect you to be a problem solver, proactive communicator, and have an ownership mentality about the tasks assigned to you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the store in reaching goals and objectives related to sales, productivity, profitability and territory penetration by creating and implementing your business strategy
  • Perform human resource activities such as performance evaluations, hiring, disciplining and motivating employees through incentives and positive feedback
  • Develop and implement store budgets, prepare reports for senior management
  • Inventory planning, control and management
  • Oversee the scheduling and output of the production team
  • Planning and executing store marketing and sales initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with all Jibu Standard Operating Procedures
  • Keep detailed management and accounting records, including all invoices, inventory control documents and delivery notes

Qualifications and Experience:

In order to be a successful candidate, you must:

  • Have experience working for a for-profit business
  • Have experience managing a team
  • Have previous sales experience, preferably for a FMCG (fast moving consumer good) company 
  • Be able to speak good English and fluent Luganda
  • Have excellent communication skills; you are able to present updates about your store to the team in a clear and informative way
  • Have good interpersonal skills; you are pro-active, enjoy talking to people from different backgrounds, enjoy meeting new people and developing relationships with them  
  • Have a strong desire for learning
  • Have a “never give up” attitude
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be comfortable with basic financial calculation and analysis
  • Be pro-active, quick to think of solutions to problems and try them out
  • Be organized and able to develop and work according to a plan
  • Be able to influence team members to do what is required
  • Be able to represent the Jibu brand to external stakeholders (visitors, potential investors, etc.)

Preferred additional qualifications:

  • Have an educational background in sales & marketing, communications, or business administration
  • Have some experience running your own business
  • Speak other local languages
